The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
at Universal Studios Hollywood!

The first Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened in June 2010 at Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando, Florida. My family and I visited in November 2010 (read about our visit here).

On December 6, 2011, Warner Bros. Entertainment and Universal Parks and Resorts announced that a second Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be built at Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles, California. That's right in my neighborhood! It might open as soon as 2015. You can follow the progress of the new Wizarding World with me below.

December 6, 2011: Official Announcement

At Universal Studios Hollywood, members of the press watched as it was officially announced that a Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be added to the park. Hypable.com live blogged the event.
James and Oliver Phelps (the actors who played the Weasley twins) gave the official word that, "Hogwarts is coming to Hollywood!" The fact that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be expanding in Orlando was announced as well. The press event ended with a Butterbeer toast. Yum!

April 23, 2013: Groundbreaking date for the Hollywood Wizarding World is set

NBCUniversal announced that they will be breaking ground on The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood in "late summer" 2013! They stated that, like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort, the centerpiece of the Hollywood Wizarding World will be Hogwarts castle. Other details, such as other attractions and projected opening date, were not announced.



	Waterproof Digital Camera Case "What a wonderful alternative for taking underwater pictures. No need to spend a couple hundred dollars on a underwater housing case or a few hundred for an camera specifically made for underwater. These cases allow you to take beautiful clear pictures using your own digital camera. I needed a waterproof case for my Canon PowerShot SD1100IS and since I already owned a DicaPac for a another brand of camera I knew there would be no other choice for me than the DicaPac brand. This is a terrific way to protect your camera from water, sand and even snow. The optical lens sometimes interferes with the camera's zooms lens, just make sure to hold the lens from the camera's view. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED." ~Zulma
	Waterproof Wallet "This little wallet is quite small but holds a lot of stuff. I even kept a few kleenex in with my money and cards. It is very easy to squeeze all the air out because it is made with such soft, rubbery plastic, so no tiresome bobbing to the surface. The attached cord is quite long. On those long snorkeling outtings, I wore it around my waist, pulled the slider snug and tucked it into my bathing suit. I never gave it another thought. Now that's a vacation accessory. I used it scuba diving to ~40' (4 times) and no leaking. One side is clear which came in handy for the times when all I needed to do was show my id (buying me time to dig it out while walking up the pier)." ~Jem
	Small, High-Quality, Digital, Point-and-Shoot Camera "In preparing for a trip to a remote area of East Africa, I needed a camera that would fit in my pocket. I have a nice Canon Rebel with all the lenses, but the fear was that if I packed that in my luggage it would be stolen, and it is too bulky to fit in my very limited carry on bag.
